 Biography

Sara Savić, PhD, DVM is a researcher , working in a diagnostic laboratory within Scientific Veterinary Institute „Novi Sad“ from Novi Sad, Serbia. She has completed the Faculty of Veterinary medicine in Belgrade. Her main work is based on the diagnostic procedures for zoonotic diseases and vector borne zoonozes. Dr Savic has started her research in the topics of infectious and zoonotic diseases in animals. She has completed her PhD on Diagnostics of Lyme disease in dogs and ticks and after PhD turned her interest to vector borne diseases. Since few years ago, her interests and carieer went towards One Helth issues. The significance of multidisciplinary, transdisciplinary and interdisciplinary work has became most interesting during the past decade. Her expertize is in bacterial and parasitic vector borne zoonozes, aspecially in blood parasites. Dr Savić has published over 100 publications so far as a leading author or as co-author, in different scientific journals and proceedings from different scientific meetings.
