 Biography

Irfan Khan has obtained his MSc and PhD from University of Karachi, Karachi, Pakistan, and completed his post-doctoral fellowship from Albany Medical College, Albany, NY. He is currently a post-doctoral scientist/manger flow cytometry in The RNA Institute, University at Albany, State University of New York (SUNY) Albany, NY.


He is currently innovating activatable nanoprobes for targeted delivery of anticancer agents and siRNA mediated activation of chemotherapeutic drugs. Click-chemistry mediated functionalization of magnetic nanoparticles in live cancer cells. In addition, he is also screening certain antibacterial pro-drugs for use against various human bacterial infections, particularly for (MRSA) methicillin resistant Staphylococcus aureus.

 Research Interest

His research interests are Clinical and Basic themes in Virology, pathogenesis of Hepatitis C virus and Cancer Biology.
