 Biography

Dr. Muhammad Hanif Ramlee received his foundation degree from Kolej Matrikulasi Perlis, Malaysia with a first class honours and received an award as the best student in the college. In 2008, he received a government scholarship to further studies at Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM). He spent 4 years at UTM and completed his bachelor degree in Biomedical Engineering with a first class honours and then received awards as the best student award, Dean’s award and Board of Engineers Malaysia (BEM) Academic Excellence award in 2012. During his undergraduate studies, he spent 3 months at the Technical University of Ilmenau, Germany to finish his final year project. Since he excelled in academics, he was offered by the university and government for pursuing a full-time research leading to a PhD degree. He completed his biomedical engineering research in August 2015, where his thesis entitled biomechanical evaluation and new improvement on ankle external fixator have published two articles in Q2 journal and two in scopus index. During his post-graduate studies, he spent 10 months at the Universidad Politecnica de Madrid, Spain to undergo a research attachment and to finish his PhD thesis. His journey as a PhD student for 3 years brought him to receive a Best Post-Graduate Award in 2016. He then joined Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM) as a post-doctoral researcher with the Faculty of Engineering and Build Environment. Now, he is a senior lecturer at UTM where he joined the Faculty of Biosciences and Medical Engineering. Dr. Hanif is registered at the Board of Engineers Malaysia (BEM) as a Graduate Engineer. For academic teaching, he currently taught four courses: Biomedical Systems Design, Static and Dynamics, Solid Mechanics, and Rehabilitation Engineering. Dr. Hanif research interest is biomechanics, finite element, biomedical design, orthopaedic implant, biomaterials and rehabilitation engineering.
