 Biography

Dr Sobia Haqqi has a fellowship (FCPS-2010) and a membership ( MCPS-2009) in Psychiatry.Her area of expertise is Adult General Psychiatry and her passion is helping women affected with Mental Health Disorders. Her academic roles include heading a psychiatry section at a PMDC recognized Medical College, teaching Behavioral Sciences and Common Psychiatry topics to undergraduates of MBBS and BDS students, conducting lectures and workshops. Her training at the prestigious College of Physician and Surgeons( CPSP) Pakistan,as a Supervisor for Psychiatry Post-graduate exams is underway. Her research publications, both national and international (Pubmed indexed) on Depression, Substance abuse, Women related issues are various. She has been a reviewer for European Journal of Public Health, Eur J Public Health. 2009- present, JPPS-2014, Women and Health-2015, Springer, SpringerOpen and Biomed Central Journals- 2014/15. She is a Trainer for the WHO Mental Health Gap Intervention Guide ( mhGAP-IG ). She is an Executive Council Member of the Pakistan Association of Social Psychiatry (PASP). She regularly updates her clinical skills through National and International CMEs , workshops, courses and clinical attachments / locums.
