 Biography

Prof. Dr. Ali BATU was born in 1961. He is graduated from primary , secondary and high school, and University in 1972, 1976, 1982 and 1987 respectively. He is graduated from the Food Science and Technology Department ofAgriculture Faculty ofEge University in izmir. As soon as graduation he had a job as a researcher assistant in Gaziosmanpasa University. He was sent to Ege University back to do my Master of Science. He did his MSc in 1990 in the title of ''Production of White Hard Grape Pekmez added some gelling and blanching agents ''in Ege University in the Food Engineering Department. Having did his MSc he returned back to his own (that is Gaziosmanpasa) University in Tokat, worked as a researcher assistant between second half of 1990 and first half of 1991. Then he won a scholarship for PhD from Higher Education Council to be sent abroad and was sent to the Postharvest Technology Department of Silsoe College of Cranfield University in England to do his PhD in October of 1991. Having completed his English course in Silsoe College of Cranfield University he took some courses on post-harvest technology and physiology of fruits and vegetables. Then he started to do his PhD project on ' 'Controlled and Modified Atmosphere Storage of Tomatoes''. At the end of 1995 successfully completed his PhD thesis under the supervising of Professor A. Keith Thompson who is one of the leading postharvest physiologist and controlled and modified atmosphere storage expert, and the author of the book the title of 'Controlled atmosphere storage of fruit and vegetables' and one another book on modified atmosphere storage. Having completed his PhD he returned to his own University in Turkey again in 1995. He have been working or studying as a lecturer and researcher. He have been lecturing nearly four years on the subjects such as food science and technology, postharvest physiology and biochemistry of fruits and. He has achieved to the associate professor in 2002 and also the full professör degree in 2009. He has been teaches in food science and human nutrition courses on the subject
